Why Bother To Meditate

Welcome My Friend

So nice to have you here, and perhaps the reason you find yourself on this page is that you’re thinking about learning or starting to meditate. There are so many untold benefits of meditation, and I offer you my congratulations, I am so pleased. I began meditating many years ago and today it is a gift I give to myself every day.

Meditation like anything new is awkward at first. But the rewards for sticking with it will change your life forever, this I promise you. We live in a world outside of ourselves that is filled with constant distractions and challenging situations.

Our repetitious thoughts are either in the past, which gives us our identity and often regret, or in the future which offers us either fear or the promise of liberation and freedom, neither of which is true. Our inner world is quite often filled with turmoil.

Most of us have had minimal experiences of chosen stillness or silence, and when we do, they are usually left behind as fleeting moments that we just don’t comprehend.

If you take a moment to remember one of these rare moments of uniqueness they will probably have appeared in a moment lost to the present, shown to you by some beauty of nature which probably left you in awe if only for a few seconds.

Maybe you stared at the moon and saw it for what it truly is, or you gazed at the stars in an infinite and never-ending universe, or you listened to the sound of a river stream in the mountains, or the miracle and wonder of a newborn baby.

Maybe you remember something even simpler, perhaps you met someone who you found or thought to be uniquely special or beautiful, and you couldn’t understand why, only to realise it was their smile, that blossomed deep from a loving heart, to leave you spellbound in their presence.petals from a flower blown away in the wind

Whatever the experience, your mind had been vacant of thought, and for a few brief seconds you were in touch with your true nature, you were able to feel that part of yourself that was in awe, and that you are yearning and longing for, even though you may not know it yet.

Meditation can bring you into an awareness where not only your day but your life can be filled with these otherwise random fleeting moments. Meditation has been practised for thousands of years, enabling its users to overcome and move beyond the mind’s stress-inducing thoughts, and emotional upsets to a place of peace and clarity, of present moment awareness.

There are many varieties and techniques, spiritual styles and cultural traditions, but it remains a simple task with profound benefits both physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Meditation, in essence, is the cultivation of mindful awareness and expanded consciousness.beautiful girl in yellow dress sit contented and smiling on a field of wild flowers

Recent studies by one of the world’s leading Universities have confirmed what the yogis have been teaching for thousands of years, that meditation reduces stress, fosters clear thinking and increases our capacity for empathy compassion and love. Resulting in more peace serenity and tranquillity.

I’m so excited for you as you take the first steps in a transformation of your life, I can only wish you the very best and implore you to stick with it.

Enjoy the small miracles that will begin to happen for you, and remember to always be grateful for all of the small blessings that will begin to come your way.
