My Dear Friend…

Welcome to my Complete Guide For Affirmations. Affirmations are tools that I have used with great success. When used correctly, constantly and with discipline, they are the starting point for colossus change in your thinking and ultimately your whole world.

Affirmations can and will provide us with a direct path to our subconscious mind. I’m sure we are all familiar with the words of Earl Nightingale.

a statue of ' the thinker' in deep thought

” We Become What We Think About All Day Long “

A simple yet profound statement of a Universal Truth. In comprehending these words it’s important to then understand the twofold process, that we not only become what we think about, but we attract into our life what we think about all day long.

Most of us not only think about, but communicate with others using words and phrases that promote our beliefs about everything that has, is, and will go wrong. We spend our time thinking and talking about everything we don’t want to happen in our lives. Our minds just randomly and continually return to a past event, and remembers with regret or look at a future that fills us with fear.

If you are not aware you are doing this, it has become a normality in your life and is the most detrimental of habit.

So What Can We Do To Turn Things Around?

I know that affirmations can be the starting point for continuing and long-term change. First, we become aware of our negative thinking and put into practise new empowering thoughts of who we truly are and what we truly want.

Whatever You Believe Is True For You

Although sometimes you’ll hear people say affirmations don’t work for them, It has been my experience that when I become aware that I am persistently experiencing one negative thought after another, and I begin to cancel those thoughts with positive affirmations, I can begin to turn around my thinking one thought at a time.

The Buddha Quotes: What We Think We Become

By disciplining myself and constantly using positive affirmations I have been able to turn my life around.

At first, we can simply take some time each day to use affirmations to interrupt and disrupt those negative thoughts. As we become more aware we will notice that at the end of our affirmation exercise our negative thoughts begin to take over again, just like clockwork. This is quite normal.

At this stage though, we can decide to become more serious, and not only interrupt the negative thoughts but actually move to a higher ground and begin to gain further strength, by imposing a new belief system over our mind by incorporating both visualization and emotion. And we do this in 3 easy steps.

  • First of all, we say the affirmation and actually visualise it.
  • Then we harness some emotion and feel exactly what this new truth feels like.
  • Then we show our belief in the affirmation by feeling grateful and giving thanks for this truth coming into being.

So we paint a vivid picture in our mind, then we conjure up all the emotion and feeling we ca. We complete its reality by being grateful and giving appreciation and thanks for its fruition.

Now that we know how to do affirmations and understand their power for change, we are ready to go. In the next few days, I will be carefully selecting affirmations that are in line with every area of our lives and are also in alignment with our goal setting.

I’m really excited as we continue this journey and would love to hear of your experiences with affirmations, and if some of you have, or are using any current affirmations that you’d like to share please feel free to comment below.

  1. I love this post and can’t wait to read examples of specific affirmations. It is true that we attract all of it into our lives. I created a vision board that hangs on the wall next to my bed and try to spend some time focusing on it when I wake up. After achieving something I’ve placed on the vision board, I take it off the board and put it in my journal! Have you read Joe Vitale? He’s one of my favorite authors ❤. He talks a lot about the law of attraction 🙂 Thanks for putting me in a positive mindset bright and early this morning!

    1. Hi Ashley,
So pleased to hear you enjoyed the post and it’s quite clear from the words you used in your comment that you are a very positive lady. Love the use of your vision board and I’m sure things are moving from the vision board into your journal on a regular basis. Thank you for reminding me of Joe Vitali, I have read some of his excellent work and I feel compelled to follow up and read more of his wonderful teachings.
Be sure to make all your dreams come true Ashley.
      Warmest Regards

  2. Hello and thanks for sharing, there is and saying that says it is the mind that makes the man and that saying is true. We who we are because of what we allow in to are minds and how we see are self. The mind is a very powerful thing therefore we should feed it with good things. What we see in the world today is the product of every ones thought, so lest program our minds in such a way that we can be people of productivity.

  4. Hey Paul, I have heard about affirmations before, but I didn’t realize that there is a lot more that goes into it like visualization and feeling the emotions of it. This sounds kind of like Affirmations+ !!!

I’m looking forward to the affirmations you’re going to select to help improve the different areas of life! Thanks for the great instructions!

    1. Hey Nick,
Nice to hear from you and yes there are many varied ways to do Affirmations. My style of affirmations have been a learning curve and have evolved through much trial and error. First I became ‘Aware’ of my negative thoughts, and awareness is a great start but it’s not the end of repetitious thought. I had to replace those times where my mind was on auto pilot and I did that by writing affirmations everywhere around my home and office.I gradually started to overcome the time spent thinking negatively with the words of power. As I felt the changes in my life I decided to get serious and the visualisation along with the feelings and emotions was the key to harness the power of the subconscious mind. Convincing it of the new truths and beliefs that are mine for the keeping. I have been amazed at the ease of transformation and I know you will too..Affirmations+ haha I like it and I look forward to hearing from you with my next selection of life-changing beliefs.
      Thanks Nick
