EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT At Work

using time more efficiently at work

Hello and Welcome

Today fellow Time travelers I’m privileged to offer you some inspiration, we will look at the ever prevalent and evasive realm of time management. For those of us who have some plans in place and are diligent, it is a source of both freedom and success. For those of us who don’t, it can be the bane and/or scourge of our very existence.

Our freedom and success can only be realised if we have our dreams and goals in alignment and set in place for our future attainment. While we need to have Time management systems in place for all the different areas of our lives, today we are going to concentrate on and look at, Effective Time Management At Work

I invite you to ask me the question…

Question – What Time is it?

Answer – The best Time of your life!

No time like the present to get rolling, eh!

So let’s begin with a short passage that’s about as subtle as a sledgehammer. A little passage that is so relevant to the topic today, and truly brings home the importance of father time and how we use it, or misuse it. It is the very basis of our existence…this Time around.

IMAGINE LYING ON YOUR DEATH BED AND SURROUNDING YOU ARE THE GHOSTS OF THE IDEAS, DREAMS, AND TALENTS THAT WERE GIVEN YOU BY LIFE.

AND FOR WHATEVER REASON, YOU NEVER ACTED ON THOSE TALENTS, YOU NEVER PURSUED THAT DREAM, YOU NEVER SHOWED YOUR LEADERSHIP.

AND THERE THEY ARE… STARING AT YOU WITH LARGE ANGRY EYES… SAYING…WE CAME TO YOU… AND ONLY YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN US LIFE… AND NOW WE MUST DIE WITH YOU… FOREVER!

The question is, if you died today, what ideas, what dreams, what abilities, what gifts, would die with you?

Aha…That’s got you thinking now, hasn’t it!

The only time we have is right now and I strongly believe we have to make best use of every waking second. Letting go of past mistakes and moving on is important too. Thanks again

Time management is not just about you getting started now and nothing, it is about the planning and proper usage of the time to give that special and accurate feeling of proper management of time. No time deserves to be wasted especially at work. For anyone to thrive, there needs to be the special connection in time usage and management. This is really massive and I am thankful of you for sharing

  4. Indeed! life is time and vice versa. There is no one who toys with time because life gives us a reason to keep on living and because of time, we keep on going so that we can achieve the better things, This is really massive and I appreciate every little details made available here. Managing time effectively at wok would only ensure that success is attained easily and progress too. Thanks

    1. Hi Benny, Thanks for your thoughts and I’m very appreciative of your comment. Time is about management not about control, we all want to make full use of our time and it is a constant struggle. we need to be disciplined but also forgiving of ourselves there are always exceptions and we don’t want to get caught in the trap of perfection.

      Thanks again

      Paul

  5. Well! my take from this is that time is life and we all have as limited as we are still alive. There is no one who wants to waste their time doing virtually nothing. This is really great to see here. Please can you write a post on how best we can also mange our time at home and also around people who shares common interest with us. Thanks

    1. Hi Shelley and thanks. It would be an absolute pleasure to write some articles on other variations of time management. We need to have a well-rounded plan for our 24 hours each day and to miss one area is to miss them all. Stay posted. Thanks for the idea

  6. Hi and thanks for your article

Time cannot be measured by any monetary system and it is so important to value each and every day you have. So many people get caught up with work that they forget to do the things they enjoy or even just spend time with loved ones. It’s all well and good to be rich and of course it is nice to have expensive things and not need to go without but really, the most precious thing we have is our time and we should value this far more than we do

    1. Hi Marketa, I think it’s a never-ending process that comes with the evolution of who we are and what we become. As individuals, we all have different priorities and we need to plan accordingly. Time management is important but acceptance to any hindrances by way of the unexpected is equally important.

      Thank Marketa

      Paul

  7. Awesome Paul, I’d say I’ve spent some best moments reading this post. It is very encouraging indeed.

Mostly we conform ourselves with the world and tend to forget the most important tasks of our own lives, even though we know that time is our most valuable asset we end up wasting it. In such situations the motivational doses given in your website must be read regularly.

Thanks a lot for sharing this wisdom with us.

    1. Hello there Akshay, Glad to know you spent some time here, it’s a nice place to hang out I must say. We first need to acknowledge the importance of time as you have done and then start to plan and prioritise what’s most important. It’s time-consuming and maybe arduous, but the end result is freedom and making the most of every precious moment

  8. Hi Paul,

Great reading through a journey that relates to all of us. We all are aware of the simple facts and also probably the truth, but are comfortable resorting and residing in the denial mode. The time comes when one feels the need to look into ourselves and that is when I believe one needs someone like you.

We the common man need a spiritual guide not to tell us about what we do not know, but to remind us of what we actually are very much masters of, and to look within to find answers. Your achievement of getting people to look within for answers and personal development is worthy of ovation and looking forward to more inspirational writing

    Rajesh

    1. Hi Rajesh, Your comment is very humbling for which I am so grateful. Yes indeed, there is nothing on any of my pages which we all do not already know. My words are just reminders or signposts for us to follow..if you are ready. I honestly treasure this comment from you and look forward to some more wisdom in your future comments

      With gratitude

      Paul

  9. Time is the most important thing that cannot be bought. I have spent a lot of my life wasting time when I could have used that time to accomplish life goals, but instead wasted it on doing useless things like playing video games and watching TV.

The difference between wealthy people and poor people is how they use their time, wealthy people use their time wisely. I have heard that the most successful people in the world all wake up really early, like at 3am, because the earlier you get up the more you can get done. Poor people get up whenever they want, sleep 10 hours a day, and waste a lot of time doing nothing.

    1. Hi Son, Don’t be too hard on yourself and remember it’s never too late to begin, a simple decision can completely turn your life around, the important thing is to start and never give up!

      Best wishes mate

      Paul

  10. Hi. First I like your layout, it is easy to read. Next, you have given time a whole new perspective.  I love the saying being healthy is having time.

Time given to 2 different people will indeed have different outcomes.

Thank you for reminding us time is precious and we really need to make full use of it.

An excellent article. I enjoyed reading it very much. Marc Ho.

    1. Hello Marc, and thanks for your kind words. Time is the most precious possession and we need to be reminded often. It is the thing that is precious and we need to maximize every moment and squeeze the juice right out of it. Time for work, family and ourselves, to keep moving forward!

      Cheers mate

      Paul

  11. Hi Paul,
Your post is bringing talent outside. Being rich is having money and being wealthy is having time. Yes, you are right both billionaires and beggars both have 24 hours in a day. The difference is how they spent their time.
Yes, I started my Journey today with time management and prioritise my work accordingly. I will only do one take at a time. Yes, we must have to buy such a lovely book. I like the 5 second rule.
I can not express my happiness in words. Your post make my life.
    Thank you
    Parveen

    1. Hi Parveen, Welcome my friend. Great timing for you if you are in the initial stages of your journey. To be reminded at this sometimes fragile time in your development is critical. Best wishes my friend

      Paul

  12. Haha! This is indeed the best time of my life as I’m about to venture into what I haven’t done before and I see some huge potential for me succeeding in it if I can manage my time effectively.

I know; many people have told me that I have lots of potential in me. I don’t want to die without exhausting this potential and I don’t want to die without spending as much time as possible with my family (future family 😉)… So I need to make proper use of time starting from this day and onward. Those time quotes are so inspiring and energizing too.

    My kind regards!

    1. Hey there Mr. Biiizy, Great to have you here at this very important time and you can kick off your new venture with the timely reminder of the importance of your time. Go get ’em, my friend,

      Best wishes

      Paul

  13. Fantastic article on time vs life. I can see exactly what youre trying to point out and its true the millionaire and the homeless guy both have the same 24 hours.

At the same time, it was quite scary to think about death! I remember what Robert de Nero said once on a film called, a bronx tale…. and that was there was nothing worse than wasted talent.

I get the message… and it sinks in,

    thanks

    1. Hi Julian, Nice to hear from you and thank you for taking the time to express your ideas, I didn’t mean to scare you with the referral to the regrets that we may have on our death bed. However, they do say that coming to grips with your mortality is an awakening to do the things that matter most. Cheers for now.

      Paul

  14. This was really great timing for me to read! I just listened to a podcast about effective leadership and he made a really great point about no longer using time as an excuse (no matter what!). And your article follows that up by making a great point about the billionaire and the beggar. We all have the same 24 hours in a day and I think it’s super important that we’re enjoying them! But also that we use the time we’re given to challenge ourselves and push ourselves to be our best and to give our gifts to others!

    1. Hello again Tucker, Always great to hear from you and get your thoughts. I think leadership and time management go hand in hand. Great to know your both reading and listening to ‘the good stuff.’ Keep it up!

      Regards

      Paul

  15. Thank you for your post. It is inspirational. I know time is important, but I’ve never thought about time this seriously, time is life. You are absolutely right about this.

Your article reminds me to rethink my time management or life management. During the course of my life, I wasted a lot of time. I need to effectively master the skill of time management. From now, I list this on my agenda. Soon it will be2020 and I am definitely to put time management in my new year task.

It is kind of you raising this issue and sharing a lot of inspirational messages with us. Time is flying, but we are the pilot to effectively control the time for our benefits.

    1. Hi Anthony,

So glad to have you here and get your thoughts. I’m so pleased that as a young guy you can bring this into your focus and make the most of your younger years. May 2020 be the years that you make time management your priority

      All the best

      Paul

  16. Hi Paul, that post was very inspiring. I often times find myself wanting to achieve a ton of things but never actually getting anything done. I wake up with good intentions of completing stuff but not having the discipline perhaps to just block out all other distractions and actually executing what I set out to do. Then as the day goes on, making more excuses and then saying when it’s too late, I’ll just do it tomorrow and make up for the lost time.

Your post was definitely an eye opener. Time waits on no man. It also should be used wisely. How do you hunker down and get things done or make progress ? I know in myself, it’s not that I can’t do my tasks or that I don’t want to, but I think it’s just the discipline to just get it done. Any advice would be helpful for sure.

Your article was definitely inspiring. Do you ever find yourself in a rut? And how do you break out of it if so? What do you do to overcome it. It seems you have really analyzed the topic and maybe gone through it like myself. Just curious on your suggestions. As a side note: I know the first thing to do is admit that there’s a problem and then look for ways to solve it. This article has truly opened my eyes and has me thinking. Thanks.

    1. Hello Sean, Great to hear from you and your honesty is appreciated. I. like you, and everyone else find myself in ruts at times, For me, I just keep moving forward no matter what, I am not immune to pain or the challenges but I have developed the discipline to just do what needs to be done.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, the time will come when the desire is strong enough so relax for now and dwell on the fact that you have been honest enough to admit to yourself and that is where we begin.

      Just do it!!

      Paul
